I began my career working in membership for a non-profit organization. There I was able to hone my sales skills, data management, and software knowledge. Each week I answered in the neighborhood of 1000 emails from members, students, and the general public.
I then accepted a position in Sales for a New Home Builder. I had daily contact with buyers, agents, mortgage companies, construction staff, etc. I also prepared flyers and other marketing materials for the community.
In 2002 I became a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of Virginia. This enabled me to get hands on experience trying out different marketing ideas. I was able to track what was effective and what was not so effective in my own business.
